I am a dental hygienist and a clinical educator at Midwestern University, where I mentor and guide dental students in developing their first hands-on practical skills with patients. With a focus on experiential learning, I work closely with dental students in clinical settings, supporting second-year students as they handle their first-patient interactions and advising third—and fourth-year students on periodontal dental hygiene treatment planning for their patients. These experiences are hands-on learning and foster a connection to community needs as our students serve diverse patient populations.
My journey in the CCHE program has allowed me to gain a broader perspective on educational leadership. I have learned to combine flexible, student-centered approaches that prepare students for real-world success. I am passionate about encouraging and strengthening the next generation of healthcare professionals. I look forward to continuing to contribute to an impactful, service-oriented educational model that extends beyond traditional learning.
